Shara Simmons has a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology, the study of human movement, from C.U. Boulder. She is the founder of EuKinetics L.L.C. in Fort Collins, Colorado. Shara is committed to creating movement that matters.
Shara has spent the last 15 years in the fitness industry working as a a muscle activation technique specialist, personal trainer, group instructor, mountain biking coach, running coach and educator. She is always looking for the next opportunity to learn more about the body and mind in order to enhance her own life and to guide her clients to achieving optimal health and well-being.
Currently Shara is a Muscle Activation Technique Specialist, a Level 2 CHEK Practitioner and a Golf Biomechanic Specialist. Through the M.A.T. training Shara has learned how to identify muscular weaknesses in the body and “activate” or turn them on. She uses this as a prerequisite to exercise. Without the MAT, your weaknesses will stay weak and your strengths will become stronger. The C.H.E.K. Institute training has trained Shara how to assess posture and movement in order to create a very individualized program that provides her clients with a path that will create and maintain balance in the body. This programming will take someone from the couch to the summit of Everest!
Shara has worked with professional athletes, weekend warriors, moms, children and the elderly. Applying the techniques from M.A.T. and the CHEK institute she has helped her clients overcome chronic pain, injuries, lack of coordination, balance and strength giving them the physical freedom to live healthy and functional lives.
During her years at C.U. Boulder, Shara interned with Amy Roberts PhD of exercise physiology of the Boulder Medical Center. She was very fortunate to work with the Colorado Avalanche and Denver Nuggets, giving VO2 Max/Lactate Threshold tests to the individual athletes and using the results to design better cardio programs.
Ms. Simmons was also featured in the December 2002 issues of Women’s Magazine.
Her love for movement is expressed in her life through mountain and road biking, running, cross-fitting, snowboarding, adventure racing, hiking and just simply being a part of and loving the Colorado outdoors.
